Principle Responsibilities

Reporting to and providing financial support to the Commercial Manager and the Sales and Marketing teams, through continued development and maintenance of a robust financial control and reporting environment. Through effective finance business partnering, contribute to maximising the business profitability by providing timely and accurate commercially focused financial and analytical support.

Key Accountabilities
• Provide on-going business partnering and financial support to the Retail & Co-Man Sales, Marketing and Innovation Teams.
• Support New Product Development through the development of robust financials, proactively challenging the direction and viability of a project’s success.
• Prepare month end journals and commentary for Retail, Marketing & Innovation results.
• Review, monitor and reconcile Actual &Projected and Co-Op expenses and provisions ensuring complete and accurate tracking of actual and projected expenditures and programs against agreed budgets and forecasts.
• Support the wider Commercial Finance Team with the budget/forecasting process for Gross Margin (including Trade Spend).
• Through month-end activities such as journals, balance sheet rec’s, and monthly analysis/review, ensure integrity of the G/L.
• Prepare monthly cost centre reports for each Cost Centre owner, including analysis and commentary.
• Liaise with Sales & Category teams to perform regular Promotional Evaluation to determine Effectiveness and Efficiency of Promotions, extract insights and present recommendations.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

This role requires, the individual to have a thorough understanding of financial literacy (financial markets, accounting/ economics, financial planning/ budgeting skills) and data analytics in order to successfully carry out their duties. Attention to detail is a key skill required as they need to identify patterns, ensure that data has been analysed correctly and that presentation of the information in the form of graphics/ slides and other visual communication aids is impeccable. Fluency in financial analysis tools (IBP/ TM1/ Cognos) for performing statistical analysis, financial modelling and forecasting as well as in software related to spreadsheets, database management, presentation and report creation. The individual needs very good communication skills and an ability to present reports to the finance team, other departments and senior management. They also need to have an interest in keeping abreast of industry updates and changing marketplace conditions and regulations. They also been to be action oriented, have a positive "can do "attitude and has a dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of key stakeholders.

In addition the candidate will have:
• Significant experience within a manufacturing organisation (FMCG experience highly regarded)
• Bachelor Degree in Finance or Business or equivalent
• Previous experience working with Pronto Xi or equivalent ERP.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills, and the need for strong interpersonal skills to manage the various stakeholders within the organisation.
