Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.

The Environmental Engineer will act as a supplement to the existing federal staff to ensure the timely completion of authorized work for the 183 schools under the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) and BIE facilities around the country.

Shall advise on or manage the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process over the various project phases regardless of project delivery methods used.

Our salary range for this position is based on the market data, $100k to $120k per annum (the range varies depending on experience and qualifications).

Key responsibilities:
Monitor and track the progress of designated construction projects in support of the assigned project manager and provide routine reports of accomplishments to appropriate officials and offices
Periodic review of ongoing work to ensure compliance with specified requirements listed in the Environmental Assessment or other NEPA/regulatory requirements
Coordinate the review of Environmental Assessments or Categorical Exclusion for the Division of Safety and Facilities Management (DSFM) funded projects
Provide technical assistance and advise to Project Managers relative to resolving existing project-related issues Projects are related to domestic, wastewater, sewage treatment, and air quality
Support in the execution of the Site Assessment Program by providing environmental engineering subject matter expertise
Lead the environmental engineering assessment effort at each project location
Contribute to the final evaluation report and site improvement recommendation
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as needed
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a comprehensive knowledge of project management of construction and renovation work from planning, design, and construction
Must be a licensed Professional Engineer
Knowledgeable in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), required
Comprehensive knowledge of site planning, building design, construction means, methods and codes, scheduling, material and labor cost estimating
Able to evaluate general compliance with environmental health, safety, and protection requirements
Familiar with design and construction methods
With a valid driver's license
