Telecommunications Engineer
Salary: $39.35 - $52.84 Hourly
$81,856.74 - $109,902.83 Annually

Job Summary:
Studies, designs, engineers, constructs, installs, and coordinates telecommunications equipment, systems, and facilities; performs engineering studies involving equipment, applications, or theoretical analyses. Performs related duties as assigned. This is a competitive classification
Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to extensive (5+ years) journey-level experience related to land mobile radio Frequency Modulation (FM) two-way radio, microwave, fiber optic, and electronic communications systems (FCC Part 90, Part 101, or military equivalent). Must have technical certification (e.g., FCC General Class License, PCIA or APCO Technical Certificate, CET Journeyman Certificate with a Communications endorsement, or equivalent).
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office setting.
Travel by conventional vehicles, 4-wheel drive trucks, snow-traversing vehicles, and, where appropriate, riding in fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, in all forms of weather and conditions (e.g., extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, blizzards, heavy snowfall, icy roads, muddy roads, etc.).
May be required to work and drive in inclement weather.
May be required to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
May be required to bend, stretch, stoop, reach, and climb.
May be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
May be required to lift and move heavy, bulky items, equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
May travel statewide and work irregular hours when required.
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Applicants must complete an examination process. A polygraph and background investigation are required for successful applicants. All newly hired employees will be subject to the E-Verify Employment Eligibility Verification Program.
