Work Location – El Paso, TX; Dallas, TX

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Corporate Accounting, we are looking for a forward-thinking Staff Accountant with high energy and passion. You will be responsible for various tasks related to month-end close, general ledger review, account reconciliations, royalties, and other tasks as assigned in support of shared services. Prepare transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documents for the monthly close process
• Reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts
• Complete variance analysis
• Perform month-end close of sub-module for approximately 36 sub-systems
• Open and close general ledgers and sub-ledgers as assigned
• Prepare intercompany agreements and billing transactions
• Ensure variances are corrected in a timely manner
• Validate the final numbers
• Prepare and maintain various account schedules, calculations, reconciliations, and corresponding adjustments
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements
• Prepare requested schedules
• Align with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

• Proficient in Oracle Business Intelligence
• Critical thinking and analysis
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Tackles new tasks with a high level of difficulty
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail
• Able to interact with various levels of management
• Able to optimally balance multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong analytical problem solver
• Presentation and organizational skills

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in accounting
• 1+ years of equivalent work experience
• Corporate accounting experience
• Software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows, Acrobat
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with public company requirements
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) eligible
• Hyperion
• Oracle
