Description

This position is responsible for administering banks LAN & WAN network infrastructure and ensuring 24/7 availability including optimal scalability to support the digital transformation needs of the bank. This role includes monitoring, planning, implementing, and administering all aspects of network infrastructure implemented by the bank.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure seamless network support to business users and IT teams in branches.
• Ensure all assigned network project tasks are accomplished and maintenance operations of network infrastructure are addressed on an ongoing basis.
• Ensure 24x7 network availability and with minimal maintenance outages.
• Ensure network systems and solutions including IP-Telephony, Network Access Control, Proxy, SSLVPN, etc., are always available and technical issues are addressed proactively and in timely manner.
• Proactively monitor overall network infrastructure and ensure minimal interruption.
• Monitor and administer the bank’s Local Area Network (LAN)
• Administer and secure bank’s wireless network.
• Administer and manage Group Wide-Area-Network.
• Manage and support global remote access and Site-to-Site Virtual Private Network (VPN)
• Manage and administer bank’s Firewall including upgrades, reviewing firewall rules and deploying security patches.
• Administering and monitoring banks Internet and Intranet services.
• Install, configure, integrate, upgrade, and troubleshoot bank’s global network routers, local switches and general network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose network issues swiftly and provide root cause analysis.
• Provide adequate guidance to Network resources in Group offices with implementing security baselines and hardening Network devices.
• Proactively monitor network infrastructure to enhance performance and report any issues to Group Head of IT Infrastructure.
• Participate in procurement and budgeting process including vendor and service contract renewals.
• Respond and address audit comments in a timely manner. Assist Group offices in addressing comments related to their local Network Infrastructure.
• Coordination with other IT staff to demonstrate and deploy new core network associated technologies across the bank.
• Actively participate in the bank’s global Disaster Recovery test.
• Prepare technical and user documentation for new network technologies once deployed.
• Provide technical assistance and support to Group IT staff & local IT teams.
• Liaise with vendors for communication / configuration, failures and updates on Network Infrastructure.

As the asset administrator of Network devices:
• Administer network assets and Software License Database through the implemented Asset Management tool – Hardware and Software to include licenses, warranties, maintenance contracts, and vendor agreement.
• Manage asset disposal tasks in line with corporate asset policies.
• Ensure licenses are compliant with vendor usage specifications.

Other accountabilities include:
• Participate as a project team member in Network & Communication projects from project inception to closure and ensure project delivery within allocated budget and stipulated timeframes.
• Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
• Test and deploy new networking technologies adopted by the bank.
• Perform other miscellaneous technical duties as assigned by Group Head of IT Infrastructure.
• Provide network availability, capacity utilization and other maintenance reports to Group Head of IT Infrastructure periodically.
• Ensure highest levels of service delivery to all stakeholders and internal users.
• Ensure approved security standards are followed closely.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering with 3 - 5 years’ hands on experience in IT Network Administration & Management preferably with a financial institution.
• CISCO certification is mandatory.
• Certification on other network technologies such as Firewall, VPN and SDWAN is preferred.
• Good understanding and some experience on Windows & UNIX Operating systems is desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work and deliver under pressure.
• Self-motivated and able to plan own time effectively.
