The position
As a Financial Accountant at Tiimely, you will support the business strategy by continuously improving financial management, controls, planning, and forecasting whilst delivering exceptional service to key internal stakeholders across the business.
This opportunity will see you be a part of our finance team with a primary focus of assisting with financial accounting activities, creating, and supporting accurate and timely financial information and accounting records.
Your other responsibilities will include:
• Work proactively with the finance team while partnering with stakeholders and the business on achieving its financial goals and supporting initiatives and projects where needed
• Represent the finance team and be able to confidently tell the story behind the numbers when engaging with stakeholders around the business
• Continue to assist and improve our internal processes, policies and procedures
• Assist with month end cycle and closure including balance sheet and reconciliations
• Support the preparation of financial statements
• Use an analytical approach and mindset when going about your day-to-day responsibilities
• Prepare R&D and capitalisation calculations and the relevant work papers
• Support annual audit activity and processes
• Support and guide developing members of the finance team

The successful candidate
Here's some of the things we'd like you to bring:
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or commerce (preferably accounting) coupled with a Professional qualification as a CPA/ CA will be highly preferable
• Demonstrated experience as a Financial Accountant (minimum 3-5 years), preferably in a technology or fintech organisation
• Demonstrated experience running and executing month end processes and reporting, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Proven experience with budgeting and forecasting
• A background and/or exposure to commerce or corporate accounting will be preferred
• Previous demonstrated experience and exposure to an FPA function
• Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills
• A commercial mindset and a collaborative approach
• Strong proficiency in using accounting software systems including advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Knowledge of Tax accounting, R&D, GST, FBT and company tax
• Exposure to a broad range of integrated accounting systems
