Role Purpose:Provides technical and administrative support for LAN (Local Area Network), utilizing various operating systems and a diverse array of application software. Ensures maintenance with a solid understanding of the existing hardware and software in use to maximize network efficiency and enhance user utilization. Furthermore, generates periodic and ad-hoc reports that evaluate LAN and WAN health status.Key Activities:Network Requirement Identification:Provide written document on a monthly basis which defines upcoming needs of network which would require purchase of additional hardware or software.Utilize technology to provide staff with a fast, accurate and secure method of gaining access to network so they can service the member in the fastest and most efficient manner possible.Network Management:Maintenance of network systems, including but not limited to LAN, WAN and Data Centre networking, VoIP, Firewalls, and Wireless services.Support day-to-day system management tasks, including proactive network monitoring.Support continued service improvement, and maintenance tasks to ensure network devices are compliant with security requirements.Perform network design artefacts and configuration updates, as necessary, and facilitate the addition/removal of network and security devices, as the Company Systems continues to evolve.Provide technical support for standard business applications, operating systems, and tools.Add and maintain users on the network; assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining their configurations are within standards.Assist in installation of workstations and printers on the LAN.Vendor Management:Track the adherence of vendors to service level agreement to provide maintenance services for network.Work with the vendor to seek resolution for issues covered under the contractual obligation.Network Maintenance:Develop and maintain Low-level designs, diagrams, installation configuration & guides, support procedures, test plans and runbook.Manage and maintain network documentation and network problem reports.Monitor network performance and security incidents, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.Work within the established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure. 6+ years of related experience of which a minimum of 3 years should be in a similar position / responsibility.Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science/Information Technology. Must be Cisco Certified Network Admin (CCNA) / Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).MCSE, CCNE and other Network and security certification is a plus.UAE Driving license is a must.Proper understanding all types of hardware including routers, switches, wires and other essential equipment.Sound experience in managing a geographical WAN with relevant connectivity mediums i.e., MPLS, Broadband, etc.Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.Hands-on experience in PTP, CCTV, Access control, gate barrier, T&A systems installation configuration and maintenance.Knowledge structured cabling system, CAT 6 as well as Fiber optic cable termination and patching.Knowledge of various Networking Services such as directories, files, distributed applications, email, HTTP, FTP, DNS and some other common servicesKnowledge of security maintenance using encryption, firewalls, IDS, anti-virus, anti-spam etc.Knowledge of ISP/Communication Providers and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
