Description

Collaborates with otherdepartments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resourcesneeded to establish and provide an effective supplychain.

Establishes performance metrics formeasurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting thesupply chain.

Develops and maintains detailedinventories of materials and supplies located in the company, atsites, and in the factory.

Maintains requiredquantity of supplies and materials to optimizeproduction.

Analyzes current inventories andprocedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supplychain and profitability for thecompany.

Develops policies to increaseefficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality andsafety; implements subsequent changes toprocesses.

Identifies optimal shipment andtransportation routes with attention to consolidation ofwarehousing and distribution.

Assesses the needfor material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendationsto ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage ofmaterials.

Negotiates prices for raw materialand delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shippingcompanies.

Participates as an advisory memberof the product development team, providing information and guidanceon availability and cost of supplies andmaterials.

Acts as part of the teamcoordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or newproduct launches to ensure timely and orderly material andproduction flow transitions.

Monitors theperformance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet qualityand delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliersin collaboration with otherdepartments.
