About The Role

Are you interested in joining our team as a Graduate Engineer? In this role, you will have the opportunity to support our Engineers and Lead Engineers while gaining diverse experience to become a fully skilled and qualified Engineer. The main focus of this position is to assist with the delivery of capital projects.

As a Graduate Engineer in our Capital Project Team, you will be responsible for providing technical knowledge for one or more capital projects. Your contributions will help ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, engineering, quality, and statutory regulations.

We value collaboration and encourage you to work closely with colleagues across all levels of the Drax group, with a focus on the future. Safety is our top priority, and you will play a role in promoting a safe work environment by investigating safety accidents/incidents and issuing actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Additionally, you will provide assistance with contract management, including developing technical specifications, conducting risk assessments, and supervising contractor work. You will also work closely with the Mechanical Engineering team to support the delivery of our Business Plan and contribute to associated projects.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Process/Chemical Engineering or equivalent. We value individuals who can interpret complex technical data and approach problem-solving in innovative ways. In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver portions of large capital projects, including justification, scoping, design, implementation, and commissioning.

To excel in this position, it is important that you are able to engage with people positively and work effectively with different disciplines at Drax. We are seeking someone who can adapt to change with a positive attitude and is open to trying new ways of working.

Strong team and relationship building skills are essential, as well as clear communication abilities. You should also be able to work in an environment of continuous improvement, proactively identifying causes of poor reliability and progressing solutions.

Familiarity and competence in using IT systems such as Excel and Word is expected.
