A start-upcompany engaged in the development of a disruptive hydrogen technology is looking to recruit an additional chemical engineer to its London-based team. The right candidate will join a close-knit team researching and developing an innovative, exciting technology partaking in global energy transition.

Your Key Responsibilities Would Be:
• operate, test, design and conduct experiments on lab-scale, and workbench-scale technical kit;
• participate in the design, testing, construction, commissioning and optimisation of the company’s future generations of experimental equipment and demonstration plants;
• collaborate on expanding the company’s IP portfolio; and
• maintain, improve, enhance and automate data collection, reporting, presentation and distribution to support and guide the development trajectory decision-making process.

Other Key Responsibilities Include:
• hands-on, in-lab and in-workshop operation, care & maintenance, and ongoing upgrading and improvement of reactor systems;
• contributing to development ideas and engineering challenges;
• analysis of process conditions and systems performance;
• writing up operation manuals and recording trial and experiment results coherently;
• presenting conclusions to to team and investors;
• technical reporting on grant-funded projects; and
• meet project and production deadlines.

Candidate Requirements:
• possess a degree level qualification – Master of Chemical Engineering of equivalent is preferred.
• strong laboratory experience (corporate research and development environment) – in setup and optimisation of chemical reactor systems.
• experience in material and process analysis.
• experience in corrosion and corrosive environments.
• experience with low and high pressure equipment and systems.
• flexible approach to work schedule on an as-required basis.
• quick to learn, pick up and critically evaluate information;
• advanced excel skills;
• strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
• self-starter with ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and bring fresh ideas; and
• UK citizen or ILR status.
