Job descriptionThe position requires a hands-on ORACLE RAC database technologist with both database administration and database development experience. Also required is advanced expertise in performance tuning activities. Good written & verbal communication skills are needed to work with various project teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, able to drive tasks to completion independently, and able to learn new skills on the job as project requirements expandResponsibilitySupporting the day to day development activities by working with the application development team on database issuesPerformance tuning/troubleshooting complex queries and server performance issuesRun system performance tests in the database labRecommend improvements in the reporting and batch processing code based on analysis of system snapshots and database logsParticipate in the production support activities on a 24x7 basisLead database code reviews3Qualifications7 years experience with ORACLE database administration3 years experience with RAC, installation, configuration, administration of ASM, cluster control3 years or more experience in the database development lifecycle3 years database programming including stored procedure and trigger developmentExperience with VLDB (very large database) environments3 years database programming including stored procedure and trigger developmentStrong SQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries to improve performanceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize, multitask and work with onshore and offshore teams Skills DesiredORACLE 11g and 12cUNIX and shell scripting skillsExperience in a programming language is a plusGood communication skills, strong Teamwork and organization skillsPositive attitude, problem solving skills and self-initiative are must qualities
