Job Summary:

Responsible for the design, development, upgrade, maintenance and overall performance planning of the database environments from project inception to ongoing support and decommissioning of the databases.

• Manages DBA support queue in issue tracking system
• Proactively monitors SQL servers for performance, security, stability, and recovery
• Identifies opportunities and implements solutions for users to self-serve repeated requests
• Implements, administers, and maintains policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company databases
• Enhances existing database architecture to support new features, performance improvements, upgrades, and ongoing sustainment
• Participates in all aspects of the application lifecycle: requirements analysis & definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment
• Learns relevant business processes and understands & manages the data flow, criticality and dependencies
• Assists scrum teams with SQL development and writing complex stories/procedures
• Participates in 24x7 on call rotation
• Demonstrates high ethical standards regarding the company's treatment of confidential information
• Works under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Regular, reliable and punctual attendance
Required Education, Experience and Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar field of study.
• - 10 years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining SQL Server infrastructures.
• Writing T-SQL and stored procedures and code tuning on high transaction systems.
• Logic and performance issues in T-SQL stored procedures.
• Loading and extracting data using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Proficient with SQL server profiler for monitoring and troubleshooting database activity and performance.
Preferred (but not required) education or skills for this role
• MCSA SQL certification preferred.
