Data Scientist with Full Stack Developer Experience

• Day rate: $1,100 to $1,200 (incl Super)

• Contract duration: 22/01/2024 to 30/06/20252, plus 12 months extension

• Location of work: Canberra or Offsite

• Security Clearance: MUST be Australian citizen and able to obtain Baseline

Our federal department client, IP Australia, is seeking an individual who is interested driving innovation, delivery in a fast-paced agile environment and making a difference through their work, with background in machine learning, data science, or software engineering to contribute to the development of machine learning solutions to support IP Australia’s strategic objectives, including the evaluation of commercial software or state of the market, or data analytics to identify opportunities for innovation.

Essential criteria

1. Experience building and maintaining cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Textract and S3

2. Experience building and maintaining software using Python and Extensible Markup Language (XML)

3. Experience with working in Linux and with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)

4. Knowledge or experience with unstructured text processing such as regex or entity extraction using natural language processing is highly desirable (bordering on essential)

5. A demonstrable passion for innovation, dedication to working collaboratively and the ability to explain or translate complex models and findings to business stakeholders
