We are now looking for a passionate Human Resources Manager (HR Manager). By joining us, you will be at the forefront of building a new company from scratch, growing Northvolts footprint in Germany and contribute to building one of the largest European battery factories. Our team is currently based in Hamburg with an outreach to our planned gigafactory in Heide, Schleswig-Holstein. About the job
At Northvolt, people are our number one critical resource. As such we have high ambitions with regards to the standard we hire, the ambition to drive retention and managing our employees well being. The role is focused around building up the operational HR, you will lead the work about consolidating and adapting the processes, systems and policies that we have in Sweden to ensure they are compliant with German labour law. When the whole factory is up and running we will be 3000 people working there, which means we need to prepare for success regarding the operational parts including collective agreements, work councils and managing union relations. Being a greenfield company allows a uniques possibility to get things right from the start with regards to equal representation and pay. You have a passion for the operational HR side and want to be a part of creating an awesome place to work and a strong safety-first culture.

You will work closely with all the other parts of People & Growth such as Talent Acquisition (TA) & Onboarding and Talent Services including HR Ops, HRIS and Payroll. You will be the second person on-site to join the People & Growth team. You will reporting to the Director of HR in Germany, and working very closely in general with the People & Growth organisation in Sweden.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Building a world leading HR operations
• Drive, implement, improve and follow all HR processes together with corporate functions
• Convert business strategies into HR operations, support Northvolt leaders to deliver on company goals and drive culture
• Design and implement policies that drive positive employee experience
• Run and support in annual Growth and Performance management cycle

About the candidate
You have solid experience in the field and worked hands-on as a HR Manager before, been driving innovative and challenging HR projects with high demands on both operational and strategic excellence. You have a deep understanding of working with HR related questions within a manufacturing context or similar. You enjoy building relationships with the union and got experience from collective bargaining agreements, as well as creating/adapting HR policies to comply with German legislation. Furthermore, you are curious, technically educated and with a strong business background. You are used to a multi-cultural environment and thrives in matrix organisation with a lot of ongoing topics.

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:
• A relevant Bachelor or Masters degree within HR, Law, Business or similar
• Several years of working experience in HR
• Good knowledge of employment law and labour law in Germany
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
• Successful track record of scaling HR-operations in a fast growing environment ideally in the industrial/manufacturing industry or at a start-up
• Knowledge and experience of payroll and HR-systems
• Worked in multi-cultural environment
