UI/UX Designer Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

User Research:
• Conduct user research to understand the target audience's needs, preferences, and behaviors.
• Create user personas and user journey maps to guide the design process.

Information Architecture:
• Develop and maintain a clear and logical information architecture for digital products.
• Define the structure of content and user flows.

Wireframing and Prototyping:
• Create wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize and test design concepts.
• Iterate on designs based on feedback and usability testing.

UI Design:
• Design the visual elements of the user interface, including layout, colour schemes, typography, and graphics.
• Ensure consistency and branding across all digital assets.

Interaction Design:
• Define and design the interactions and animations that enhance the user experience.
• Create engaging and user-friendly micro-interactions.

Usability Testing:
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to refine and improve the user interface and experience.
• Collaborate with users to address pain points and optimise the design.

Collaboration:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other designers, to ensure the design aligns with project goals and constraints.

Documentation:
• Document design decisions, rationale, and specifications for development teams.
• Create and maintain design style guides and pattern libraries.

Stay Current:
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UI/UX design.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior designers if applicable.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Design, HCI, or Graphic Design).
• Several years of professional experience in UI/UX design.
• Proficiency in design tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Strong portfolio showcasing previous UI/UX design work and demonstrating problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with user-centered design principles.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
