The Financial Analyst, Marketing Budgets, will have responsibility for managing the budget process for Cox Business Marketing, including ownership of the overall budget, ongoing performance tracking, strategic alignment, and communications with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will serve a critical role in providing a solid process that ensures the overall and individual budgets drive maximum return on investment.

We are looking for a leader who brings deep practical experience in building and driving a diverse budget that is strategically aligned and maximizes ROI. The ideal candidate will have a solid financial and accounting understanding with exceptional program management skills.
What You’ll Do
• Develop a “bottoms up” budget framework that incorporates over 50 individual cost center budgets from over a dozen stakeholders and business owners.
• Drive an ROI mindset and approach across all initiatives to ensure sound priority and maximum performance.
• Develop/maintain tight control of the marketing department’s budget and performance.
• Monitor performance and forecasts to ensure on-budget delivery.
• Assist in resolving accounting/financial issues.
• Work with marketing leaders and boundary partners on developing results-oriented business cases to justify/expand budgets.
• Responsible for delivery of sound budget performance analysis and high-quality executive-level readouts to key internal/external stakeholders.
• Develop & manage measurement roadmaps to provide continued enhancements to marketing performance reporting and optimization opportunities.

Who You Are
Minimum
• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2 years’ experience in a related field, preferably business commerce. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and up to 2 years’ experience; or 6 years’ experience in a related field.
• Experience with an impressive budget management and optimization track record.
• Strong financial and accounting acumen, with an analytical mindset and approach.
• Deep understanding of budget management, accounting, and financial planning.
• Strategic thinking, courageous innovation that reshapes the approach and drives marketing budget performance. A forward-looking leader, unbound by what has been done, what is traditional, and what has worked in the past.
• Ability to manage diverse budgets and key stakeholders. Particular strengths in building ROI-driven business cases.
• Expertise using MS Office suite: Excel for data analysis, projections, charting / graphs; PowerPoint for executive level presentations; Power BI for visualizations.

Preferred
• Experience working on marketing or business operations projects and/or teams a benefit.
• Tableau a plus for reporting, querying data, visualizations, creating self-serve dashboards.
• Experience SQL querying language a bonus
