Process Engineer

Huntsman’s Polyurethane Elastomers division is now looking for a Process Engineer. This Process Engineer is
To ensure that standard process conditions are prepared and maintained for all products and processes. To ensure that all activities are being carried out according to the relevant EHS rules and that documentation of trials / standard process conditions and changes are documented according to the legal and DIN/ISO 9001 requirements.

This role is located in Huntsman Jinshan Site.

As the Process Engineer, you will:
Ensure that all activities within his area are in compliance with regulatory and company standards. He advises and will work in close co-operation with the EHS Manager when introducing new raw materials, equipment and / or processes. The process engineer plays a key role in delivering both new product introduction and process innovation to support the development of a world class industrial TPU business. The process engineer is charged with providing technical expertise in the process of continual improvement of the existing production processes, with process support and trouble shooting support, defining and driving manufacturing programmes, systems and procedures to implement both new product & new process technology as part of the strategic technology plan in relation to the technical strategy. He / she defines complete and systematic PEP programmes aimed at professional raw material and product development / introduction and ensures these are agreed with technical & commercial groups. Trial reports shall be posted and distributed as per the agreed procedures. The job holder is responsible for optimizing all of the plants production steps / areas:(Unloading) raw materials, Manufacturing products, A blending / packaging line, Packaging of finished goods. He / she will make sure that these areas achieve excellence by optimizing the KPI’s: EHS KPI’s (including OSHA Rates), Overall cost per kg produced, Quality (RFT, Value Loss), Blocked stock (by rework proposals), Production efficiency (Usage, Net-On-stream, Total On-stream and Yields). The job holder will have a working knowledge of other area’s of the business such as: Supply Chain / Warehousing and Storage, RDC / Customer Applications for TPU (Injection molding / extrusion), Raw material Supply, QA / QC raw material and product testing He / she also has to ensure building the necessary capability within the production organization in terms of delivering the KPI’s independently, from the process department by introducing documented local work instructions, specifically run sheets with minimum and maximum allowable values, for all the different products and processes. The job holder will work closely together with the Supply Chain department to provide rework instructions for product and processes in a timely fashion for all production runs. Assists QA/QC manager or lead root cause investigations. The job holder will work with supply chain to manage the quality and process of tolling products, ensure deliver qualified tolling products to customers, and lead the complaint investigation and trouble shooting for tolling products. The process design for new or revised manufacturing processes. Ensure that the equipment engineering and design process meets the requirements. Prepare process related documentation and guidelines for procedures and training development. EHS process safety and risk management which including but not limited to prepare safety information, process hazard analysis, EHS criticality assessment, SIL target assessment, facility siting, area classification, pressure relief system design, design verification, alarm management, mechanical integrity, process safety variance.

Skills and experiences required:
Minimum BSc Degree in Chemical or polymer engineering. At least 3-5 years of technical experience in chemical or polyester manufacturing industry. Production experience is required. Must have chemical industry experience with trouble shooting, root cause investigation for EHS, Process Safety, Quality and other areas.
