The Senior Database Administrator (Oracle Exadata) manages and maintains all production and non-production databases. Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration.

The Senior Database Administrator work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Exadata Database Administrator performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.
This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.

Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, systems feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data.
Begins to influence department's strategy.

Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction.
Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering fields or equivalent experience
• 5 or more years of Oracle Exadata experience including expertise with ASM, storage cells, and RAC
• 5 or more years of SQL tuning and optimization
• 5 or more years of experience in supporting 24x7 MAA Data Warehouse
• Some experience in Data Guard, RMAN and ZFS or related technologies
• Hands on experience on Exadata full stack patching/upgrade and expansion
• Required availability for on-call rotation and off shift work
• Experience as a technology leader that will guide in technology updates and trends
• Experience as a team member with leadership focus
• Experience implementing technologies with enterprise-wide impact
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Healthcare industry experience

Additional Information

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters.

Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

Work-At-Home Requirements
• Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
• A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
• Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
• A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
