Cumberland Council is seeking an Infrastructure Field Officer for a contract position.

Role Overview:

In contributing to the overarching vision, the Infrastructure Field Officer supervises the operational performance and Work Health and Safety aspect of all renewal and maintenance works undertaken by contractors. The Infrastructure Field Officer also plays a crucial role in the delivery of restoration and road opening permit works.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Infrastructure Field Officer will be accountable for the successful delivery of the following functions:
• Road pavement, footpath, kerb, and gutter maintenance and renewal works.
• Construction of Traffic Facilities.
• Utility restorations.
• Road Opening Permits.
• Approve the work output quantities billed in Contractor’s invoices.
• Manage construction of Traffic Facilities.
• Coordinate with the Contractor to program the works as per Council’s priorities.
• Assist in the delivery of Restoration and Road Opening works.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Tertiary qualifications in a related technical field or management (Diploma in Project Management or Civil Construction) or relevant work experience.
• Experience in roads, footpaths, and stormwater drainage construction and maintenance work.
• Experience in preparing civil work estimates.
• Proven ability to use a variety of computer applications such as Pavement Management System and Corporate Asset Management System.
• Class C driver's license.
• NSW White Card.
• Current Traffic Management Implementer card.
