Systems Administrator (On-site / St. Louis, MO)

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including servers, hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations
• Ensure network availability to all company users by installing, configuring, supporting, and monitoring the company network
• Install, configure, and maintain multi-platform systems hardware, software, and components
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary. Perform and evaluate needed network upgrades and maintenance
• Provide a broad range of basic systems and application support and patch management
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
• Responsible for troubleshooting server problems as reported by users
• Research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware products
• Support Web access and electronic messaging services and maintain a secure systems environment
• Provide new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth; install new servers and maintain the server infrastructure
• Define procedures for monitoring and evaluating, diagnoses, and establishing work plans to resolve system issues
• Perform troubleshooting for complex hardware, software, and network problems
• Works on multiple projects as a project team member
• Support data management through internal methods and procedures or through offsite storage and retrieval services
• Monitor all systems and servers for uptime and other critical issues
• Provide outage support as needed
• Review server logs and obtain any troubleshooting data to assist in problem resolution
• Install/Upgrade and test new software versions, MySQL, bug fixes, and patches
• Identify differing elements in configuration files between versions, and the associated implications
• Analyze system resource utilization reports to evaluate likely causes for observed performance degradation
• Research/Coordinate network change tickets (ex. Firewall, DNS, F5 load balancers, and other routing changes)
• Coordinate hardware changes (ex. new servers, adding memory/CPU/disk, etc.)
• Completes other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications
• Demonstrated communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of business users in a professional manner
• Increased knowledge and ability to make decisions around service ticket requests utilizing software such as Remedy
• Intermediate level knowledge of system administration tasks and ability to perform more advanced research and recommend approaches for resolution

Supervisory Responsibilities
• None

Education And/or Experience
• High school diploma
• Bachelors in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 3 years IT experience
• Minimum 2-3 years systems related experience
• CCNA or related experience preferred

Computer And Software Skills
• Must be proficient in MS Office
• Public Cloud Experience preferred (Azure, GCP, AWS)

Additional Information
• Work hours may require more than 40 hours per week
• Evening and weekend work will be required to support upgrades and other initiatives
• Must be willing to support an on-call rotation
• Travel required on an as-needed basis
