About The Role

Exciting new opportunity for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Asset Integrity team. You will be responsible for setting the standards, policies, procedures and best practices for all areas mechanical engineering and ensuring these comply with relevant regulations, codes, external standards and industry guidelines.

The role can be based in either of our national offices in VIC, NSW, SA and QLD or our operational sites.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Lead Asset Integrity Assurance for all areas of Mechanical Engineering at AGL
• Lead the Mechanical Engineering Team as part of the wider Asset Integrity group.
• Develop close working relationship with Business Unit Engineering Teams to ensure support and governance is adequately provided.
• Perform the role of a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mechanical Engineering on renewable and thermal assets.
• Complete complex engineering design work and reviews.
• Review Business Unit CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
• Attend external conferences and ensure knowledge transfer across the business.
• Lead major Engineering scopes of work with a long-term focus.
• Take a leadership role in both Health and Safety & Process Safety

About You

This opportunity will suit an individual who has a passion for Engineering, Engineering Leadership and is looking to further their career in the Energy Industry within a leading organisation. You will be an established Mechanical Engineer looking for a new rewarding challenge.

What You’ll Bring To The Table
• Demonstrated senior experience in Mechanical Engineering
• Tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering as a Chartered Engineer or with eligibility to become chartered.
• Broad experience across multiple Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
• Prior heavy industrial experience is desired, however not essential.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across all levels of the business.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects.
