Your Opportunity:

Due to continuous growth, our Water team is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the leadership and management of design of projects such as large municipal wastewater & water treatment plants, commercial onsite treatment systems, community treatment plants, and industrial trade waste treatment systems. The role is to be based either in Auckland or Wellington. You will be joining a diverse team of consultants who are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record guiding our clients, and leading delivery of our Country's most critical projects. You will also have the opportunity to build relationships with our
global specialists to support your growth and delivery of our projects.

Candidate Specification
Your Responsibilities:

Your specific duties and responsibilities will vary based on your level of experience. At Mott MacDonald, we provide a highly supportive and collaborative environment that fosters career growth and encourages you to reach new heights.

Your role may involve developing water and wastewater infrastructure designs for clients, developing, and maintaining key client relationships, managing the design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, as well as overseeing project management and mentoring staff.

About you:

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a high level of experience in water/wastewater/industrial treatment projects, with expertise in design management in complex mechanical plant or multi-discipline projects and further expertise in mechanical engineering for both new and existing treatment plants. A degree in mechanical engineering is required, and Chartered Engineering status (or progress towards it) is preferred. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit a proactive approach to design, a drive for innovation to add value, excellent client liaison and communication skills, and a strong team-orientated ethos, fostering collaboration with both internal teams and clients as well as the supply chain.
