Role Purpose

The AI engineer will play a critical role in developing and implementing artificial intelligence solutions that drive efficiency and innovation across various domains. Collaborating closely with product owners, cross-functional teams, and implementation partners, the AI engineer will ensure that AI solutions align with business requirements and provide technical guidance and support throughout the development and operational lifecycle.
• Work collaboratively with product owners and cross-functional teams to understand domain-specific needs and develop tailored AI solutions that address those needs.
• Support product owners in translating AI solution functional and technical requirements into actionable plans, ensuring seamless integration with the overall solution architecture and business objectives of the LINE.
• Provide technical expertise and thought leadership to partners for AI solution delivery and/or operations, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry standards.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, and implementation guidelines, to ensure knowledge sharing and transparency across stakeholders.
• Continuously stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI and related fields, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in existing solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, promoting a culture of quality and excellence in software development.
• Collaborate with data scientists and other stakeholders to gather feedback and insights on AI models and algorithms, driving continuous improvement and refinement of AI solutions.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and growth within the engineering team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Requirements Gathering & Documentation
• Work closely with Product Owners to understand the specific business needs and objectives of THE LINE Stakeholders for the development of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with Digital & Cognitive Solutions internal areas to understand and review architectural specifications and provide recommendations for the development of AI solutions.
• Assist Product Owners by translating business and architectural requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications.
• Create,maintain and share comprehensive technical documentation for AI solutions with the larger team, including technical requirements and specifications.

Technology Expertise
• Develop implementation guidelines that detail best practices, coding standards, and data handling procedures for AI solution development.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations for internal areas to be shared with implementation partners, ensuring them adhere to technical specifications and requirements.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in AI and machine learning technologies.

Knowledge, Skills, Mindset and Leadership Qualities

Essential knowledge and skills:
• Experience working with the State-of-the-Art AI approaches in NLP, Audio, Image, and video models.
• Experience with pretraining, finetuning AI models including RLHF.
• Experience with running AI models on distributed cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP and Azure.
• Experience with DataOps and MLOps.

Qualifications and experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent experience,
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying AI solutions using machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, and R.
• Experience working with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
