The U.S. Department of State is looking for an experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team. We are seeking a dynamic and reliable individual who is committed to helping us provide the highest level of support to our employees. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a proven track record of success in Human Resources. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and at least three years of experience working in Human Resources with a focus on recruitment and employee relations. Responsibilities:
Develop and implement human resources strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
Maintain human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases, and in-service training
Recruit and select qualified candidates for open positions
Develop compensation and benefits plans
Address employee relations issues, such as work complaints and harassment allegations
Implement and update policies and procedures
Participate in employment law compliance activities
Prepare reports and analysis of data related to recruitment, selection, training, and other HR initiatives
Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees on HR related matters

Qualifications
