Overview / Responsibilities
Wood’s Resilient Environments International (REI) business line is currently recruiting for Graduate Environmental Engineers. This role will be based primarily in the field and can cover multiple sites in Saudi Arabia and will be working on projects across different sectors. Wood employs over 55,000 professionals globally including 7000 working within our REI business across several sectors, including: master planning, infrastructure engineering and construction, project and construction management, water resources management, water and waste water treatment, waste management, transportation, environmental remediation and environmental consulting; plus we also support our Clean Energy, Industrial/Pharmaceuticals, Mining and Oil & Gas business lines. This role will also involve interfacing with fellow E&I professionals in our offices in Europe and North America Support the project manager in project execution Acquiring technical competency in a combination of areas including soil and groundwater remediation Conducts multi-media sampling including soil, groundwater, vapor, indoor air, and other regulated materials Conducts emergency response efforts in response to spills or other client requests Conducts oversight of subcontractors, including drillers, remediation contractors and emergency response contractors Evaluates compliance of subcontractor work against technical specifications and scopes of work Demonstrates and maintains competency in a diverse set of environmental regulations Assists in subcontractor procurement and coordination Assist in the preparation of technical reports Willingness to learn across various technical competencies in a combination of areas including site remediation, environmental planning & permitting or environmental compliance Evaluate compliance of subcontractor work against technical specifications and scopes of work The position may entail 100% field work on a variety of projects and dependent on project demands, therefore a willingness to travel is essential
Skills / Qualifications
Minimum B S degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Sciences M S degree in Environmental Engineering / Sciences or related engineering field (Desirable) Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent communication, both verbal and written, and organizational abilities Willingness and ability to interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, clients and develop effective teamwork relationships Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as required Willingness to travel and relocate during project assignments Must pass drug test, entrance physical and background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy Driving license M S degree in related Environmental & Engineering Bilingual English and Arabic both spoken and written
