Profile

The PMO Program Manager is responsible for supporting the Delivery Director in the execution of Program activities and setting up all necessary controls to ensure end to end achievement of program work, as well as allocating resources to the activities that will require focused controls. The portfolio manager also provides advice, assistance, and leadership to improve the quality of project results. He/she may also manage one or more unrelated projects within agreed parameters of cost, times, and quality to meet identified program needs.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide overall program leadership, guidance, and manage all aspects of a given program, including requirements gathering, work package identification and mapping to requirements as well as support to monitoring and controlling the implementation.
• Develop resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects and day-to-day activities.
• Proactively set performance expectations and help project managers and subordinates manage expectations of delivery and requirements, yielding consistent results.
• Review program budget variance and scope change requests and own the change management process.
• Monitor overall program progress, with particular focus on budgets, key milestones, resources, and dependencies.
• Provide program reporting and status to senior management.
• Ensure that the scope of the projects within the program align with program priorities.
• Manage program-level risks and interdependencies.
• Promote collaboration and coordination across broad categories of stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional meetings and foster teamwork, drive escalation and resolution of issues.
• Address escalated resourcing issues with project manager and resource manager, as needed.
• Support and coach project managers and coordinators within the program.
• Provide technical expertise in planning, execution, and leadership of program, projects, and initiatives.
• Maintain excellent relationships with all levels of the matrix organization.
• Identify improvement opportunities and recommend strategic steps to capitalize on opportunities that will have a significant effect on the program.
• Ensure methods and tools are adopted by program team.

Experience
• 10 years of project management experience including large-scale complex projects OR equivalent
• Hands-on experience in project/program resource planning, reporting, prioritization, and budgeting
• Has proven project management and leadership skills and a good knowledge of business analysis
• Understands management structures, and reporting procedures for all aspects of project and program management
• Desired but not required to have experience in managing projects in the Transport or Ticketing space.

Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree preferred but not required
• PMP/PMI certification for Portfolio Managers preferred but not required
