Job Description Summary
The lead mechanical engineer is responsible for leading hardware design integration work on the magnet within the Scan Room and designing the integration of hardware in the equipment room. The engineer will interface with platform and central design teams for development of new products. The position requires excellent technical engineering experience coupled with program management experience. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop project leadership as they will be involved in all aspects of the project from hardware development to production launch. This position works closely with cross functional teams across the business in multiple locations.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
• Engaging in all phases of new product development, including concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support.
• Integration design for MR scan room and equipment room, including magnet side electronic modules layout, magnet bore integration, enclosure integration.
• Work closely with global platform teams implementing new hardware. Define requirements, review design and integration with COE team.
• Work with the hardware platform teams in developing a global product development roadmap that targets specific customers’ needs.
• Responsible for product development life cycle which includes prompt attention to supply chain issues and obsolescence for both production and service operations.
• Responsible for the quality and cost of designed production.
• Responsible for championing and executing cost down and localization opportunities.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
• 5 years of Engineering experience in Product Design and Development.
• Mechanical structure design, familiar with sheet metal, machine processes.
• Experience with mechanical 3D CAD tools
• Understanding of Cross Functional perspectives and ability to influence and deliver right solutions.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this position.
• Must be able to work onsite at our Waukesha, WI location.

Desired Characteristics
• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
• PTC Creo and Windchill.
• Experience with global product releases throughout the entire product life cycle desired.
• Experience with enclosure design is preferred, specifically polymer and composite materials design. such as FRP, SMC, thermal forming, injection modeling.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing timing and quality of outcomes.
• Excellent teamwork, coordination.
• Demonstrated supplier and manufacturing interface skills.
• Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities.
• Established project management skills.
• Self-starter, energizing, results oriented.
