Description

Our client are seeking a highly skilled Lead Offshore Structural Engineer to spearhead our structural engineering efforts for challenging offshore projects in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of extensive experience, specializing in structural engineering within FPSO (Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading), FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas), and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) project environments.

Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the structural design team for offshore facilities, ensuring designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical expertise in the design of platforms, decks, and structural components.
- Oversee the conceptualization and detailed engineering of offshore structures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize designs.
- Develop innovative solutions to address structural challenges and enhance project efficiency.
- Lead material selection processes, ensuring compatibility with offshore conditions and project objectives.
- Develop and review material specifications for structural components.
- Direct the design of foundations for offshore structures, considering soil conditions, metocean data, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers to optimize foundation designs.
- Apply structural engineering principles to EPC projects, ensuring the development and implementation of robust engineering practices.
- Work closely with project managers to align structural designs with overall project goals.
- Conduct structural integrity assessments and ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Lead the analysis of structural components for fatigue, corrosion, and seismic loading.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, collaborating with construction teams to address structural challenges and modifications.
- Conduct site visits and inspections as needed.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 15 years of experience in offshore structural engineering within the oil and gas industry.
3. Specific experience in FPSO, FLNG, and EPC projects is essential.
4. Proficiency in structural engineering software and tools.
5. In-depth knowledge of international structural codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
6. Strong leadership and project management skills.
7. Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
8. Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence.
