Forestdale is a NYC child welfare agency working to prevent child abuse/neglect through parenting, prevention, and foster care services, focusing on low-income and immigrant communities in NYC. Job Summary

The Human Resources Specialist contributes to the accomplishment of Human Resources department that provides an employee-oriented, high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, goal attainment and the recruitment of a superior workforce.

Salary Range:

Bachelors - $26.37/hr - $28.57/hr

Bachelors (Bilingual)- $27.47/hr - $29.67/hr

Masters - $28.02/hr - $31.59/hr

Masters (Bilingual) - $29.12/hr - $32.69/hr

Primary Responsibilities/Activities
• Onboarding - Facilitates new hire orientation; creates/maintains electronic personnel folders.
• Compliance - Provides support with the execution of the compliance program by ensuring HR policies and procedures are developed and implemented across the organization.
• Program Support – Twice a month Specialist will travel to Jamaica and Brooklyn offices to meet with respective Program.
• Audits - Runs various audit reports within HR; coordinates with various team members to ensure data integrity; assists with gathering data.
• Recruitment - Works with Talent Acquisition Specialist to support respective Program; attends recruiting events as needed.
• Staff Events – Coordinates/Assists with Staff Appreciation Day, End of Year Celebration, Food Trucks, etc...
• Off Boarding – Creates termination paperwork and facilitates exit interviews.
• Metrics - Enter, track, and report HR metrics as needed.
• Teamwork – Become familiar with other areas of HR (Recruitment, Benefits, Onboarding etc.) to assist with coverage when necessary.
• Additional Projects – Ad hoc projects as needed.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree and minimum 2–3-year HR, or administrative support experience
• Experience in communicating with varying levels of audiences.
• Ability to prioritize and efficiently execute a high volume and broad scope of tasks within tight deadlines, competing demands, and changes in the work environment
• Ability to deal with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, or unexpected events
• Strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly
• Ability to collaborate with others
• Demonstrated ability to consult effectively with all levels of management with multiple conflicting priorities
• Ability to establish credibility, be decisive, and be able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities
• ADP experience preferred
• Bilingual a plus
• Willing and able to travel to job fairs and other sourcing locations.
