JobDescription

Toinstall, tailor and maintain the ministry’s Relational DatabaseManagement Systems (RDBMS).

Experience:
• Minimum7 years of experience in Database Administration in 24x7Environment.

EducationalQualification & Certifications:
• Bachelor’sor Master’s in Information Systems, Computer Science/IT, or arelated field
• OracleCertified Database Professional is a must

RequiredSkills:
• Goodexperience and knowledge with Oracle database Installation,migration, up-gradation and administration (10g, 11g,12c)
• VeryGood experience and knowledge in Implementations and Upgradeprojects of Oracle Application Servers and Oracle Database 10g /11g/ 12c with RAC.
• Goodexperience and knowledge with Oracle 10g Application server andOracle Weblogic server Administration.
• Goodexperience and knowledge in Oracle Database 10g/11g/12c PerformanceTuning.
• Goodexperience and knowledge in High Availability Environments (UsingOracle MAA) – Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Data Guard.
• Goodexperience and knowledge with Oracle RAC and Oracle GridInfrastructure.
• Goodexperience and knowledge in Grid Infrastructure, OEM-Grid controland Oracle enterprise Manager.
• Goodexperience and knowledge in Automatic Storage Management (ASM) andRAW Device shared storage in RAC Environment.
• Goodexperience and knowledge with RMAN, and other backup and recoverytechnologies.
• Goodexperience and knowledge with Oracle with different Linux, Solaris,HP-Unix, IBM-AIX and Windows Platforms.
• Goodexperience and knowledge in Database Designing, Installation,Cloning, Migration, Patching, Space management, ASM, ADDM, AWR,Security management, Performance tuning and Troubleshooting anyinconsistencies in the database.
• Verygood experience and knowledge about Oracle Server Internals.

Roles& Responsibilities
• Creates and maintains all databases requiredfor development, testing, Education and production usage.
• Performsthe capacity planning required to create and maintain the Databases.The DBA works closely with system administration staff becausecomputers often have applications or tools on them in addition tothe Oracle Databases.
• Performsongoing tuning of the database instances.
• Installnew versions of the Oracle RDBMS and its tools and any other toolsthat access the Oracle database.
• Plansand implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database.
• Controlsmigrations of programs, database changes, reference data changes andmenu changes through the development life cycle.
• Implementsand enforces security for all of the Oracle Databases.
• Performsdatabase re-organizations as required to assist performance andensure maximum uptime of the database.
• Putsstandards in place to ensure that all application design and code isProduced with proper integrity, security and performance. The DBAwill perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure thesite standards are being adhered to.
• Evaluatesreleases of Oracle and its tools, and third party products to ensurethat the site is running the products that are most appropriate.Planning is also performed by the DBA, along with the applicationdevelopers and System administrators, to ensure that any new productusage or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact.
• Providestechnical support to application development teams. This is usuallyin the form of a help desk. The DBA is usually the point of contactfor Oracle Corporation.
• Enforcesand maintains database constraints to ensure integrity of theDatabase.
• Administersall database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, Views,sequences, packages and procedures.
• Assistswith impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects.
• Troubleshootswith problems regarding the databases, applications and Developmenttools.
• Createnew database users as required.
• Managesharing of resources amongst applications.
• TheDBA has ultimate responsibility for the physical database design.
• TheSenior DBA should Liaise with other member of DBA Team and shouldmentor as and when required.

Termsand conditions:

Joiningtime frame: 4 weeks (maximum 6 weeks).

Theselected candidates shall join VAM Systems – Bahrain and shall bedeputed to one of the leading Government Organizations inBahrain.

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Information Systems, Computer Science/IT, or a related field
