The Opportunity

As Data Architect, you will be part of a Cognizant team that is focused on the design and delivery of integrated technical solutions for Cognizant's clients in China/ APAC across verticals. You will engage with our clients’ key stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure that the proposed data models will support delivery of solutions. You will provide direction to solution architects in terms of data design and ensure that the proposed data models are integrated appropriately across subject areas and transparent to client stakeholders. You will also ensure business rules, data definitions, and functional aspects are captured accurately and appropriately within Data models.

Responsibilities

· Responsible for understanding the unique requirements of our clients, design and deliver Data architecture solutions meeting their business goals. This includes overall technical framework, business framework, and system framework

· Design and develop solution for RFP/RFIs & proactive proposals. Support client workshops and proposal defense

· Provide innovative data architecture solutions using emerging technologies

· Design solution covering data ingestion, data cleansing, ETL, data mart creation and exposing data for consumers

· Closely work with our clients to ensure their data architecture is successfully implemented by assisting them in building their applications and services on the selected platform(s)

· Ensure internal data modelling and other data architecture standards are met

· Responsible for development of workable prototypes and testing

· Collaborate with Cognizant internal stakeholders, product vendors, other third party service providers and the customer in the strategic design process to translate business needs into enterprise level solutions

· Demonstrate technical expertise in hardware capabilities, software requirements, security requirements and systems integration

· Determine the availability and viability of third party components and services as needed

· Validates third party components comply with established core system architecture. Develop and design specifications for integration, products and technologies

· Developing robust architecture design and functionality

· Identifying creative solutions to meet system/business requirements with and without the development of custom code

· Developing data conversion and testing strategies

· Training client personnel on the usage and administration of the proposed solution

We are looking for Data Architects who meet the following criteria:

· Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related Engineering subjects

· 12-15 years of IT experience with 10+ years of experience in Data Modeling, architecture and Data Warehouse Environments

· Experience of working with Chinese as well as multi-national customers

· An established track record of delivering, preparing RFI/RFP response, technical solutions for systems integration & consulting engagements in data architecture solutions

· Strong proficiency in Data Modelling, design and architecture of data oriented solutions/system

· Experience in performance profiling and capacity planning of data workloads.

· Hands on experience in data modeling tools like PowerDesigner, ER/Studio, Sparx EA etc.

· Experience with multiple leading tools for ETL and Warehousing Database platforms

· Proven ability in multiple disciplines of data warehousing such as data access, ETL and data management

· Working knowledge of various architecture methodologies. Good knowledge of DB2, ETL

· Demonstrated experience in various Big data architectures like Lambda / kappa with usage of automation / scheduling tool like Oozie or Cronacle or any other technologies

· 5+ years of experience of implementing & integrating application into cloud based systems in Azure/AWS/Google

· Strong Logical, physical Data Modelling / Database design skills

· Proven experience with software development life cycle, Scrum, agile/SAFE methodologies & practices

· Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements like HIPPA, PCIDSS, SOX etc

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills and stakeholder management and influencing skills. Ability to deal with both highly technical and non-technical people

· Understanding of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachmann

· Mandarin/English language proficiency
