Description

What success looks like in this role:
• Responsible for supporting the functionality and efficiency of one or more operating systems.
• Deliver second level remote hardware and software/OS support services to clients to resolve product use and multi-product/platform problems and questions relating to enterprise systems, networks and application software, as well as desktop applications.
• Perform remote installation of applications to users and servers.
• Responsible for user administration, monitoring of servers, and monitoring antivirus updates.
• Perform daily checks on servers, analyze logs.
• Conduct incident investigation. Conduct advanced troubleshooting of incidents and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
• Resolve well defined incidents using documented procedures.
• Documented BAU Practices Incident management (BAU Incidents Break/Fix), Change management (BAU Changes – Patching/Firmware changes).
• Quarterly Patching activities and half yearly firmware upgrades.
• Execute complex changes, prepare and execute changes per implementation plans.
• Coordinate critical customer issues as well as new product and/or system implementations.
• Relay alerts and situation status information to both client and Unisys management.
• Provide referrals and/or dispatches to service providers to ensure that the client’s service level and technical requirements are met.
• May prepare technical documentation and ensure that technical and customer documentation is clear, accurate and complete.
• May develop and conduct user training, technical training and orientation.
• May lead small teams on defined projects.

You will be successful in this role if you have:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant systems administration domain experience ideally preferred within a corporate or enterprise environment, including relevant technical expertise.
• Strong understanding of a large server environment (i.e. Windows, Unix, Linux, Mainframe)
• Recommended Certifications: VDI - CCA (Citrix), Windows - VMware (VCP) MCSE Cloud platform AWS Cloud Practitioner Associate. These or any other relevant certifications are good to have not mandatory.
• Applicants need to be Australian Citizens due to the nature of the client and the project/ work stream and should be based in Melbourne/Victoria.

Skills Needed:

​Candidates should have hands-on experience with as many of the below tech skills sets as possible:
• Windows 10. (mandatory)
• Windows Server 2019/2022. (mandatory)
• Active Directory. (mandatory)
• Hyper V (mandatory)
• Patching, WSUS (mandatory)
• Group Policy (config management including application deployment [msi, exe, PowerShell]).
• DNS
• DHCP
• Certificate Services
• Knowledge of Microsoft Systems Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft PowerShell, Microsoft Application Virtualization (App-V).
• Basic Backup/Restore skills (Veeam).
• Basic TCP/IP network stack and troubleshooting including firewall ports.
• Server Hardware management (OOB, warranty replacements etc.) Dell preferred.
• Service Requests, Incident and Change Management (SNOW) or any other ticketing systems.
• Previous experience in a BAU server support role is preferred.
• This is a business as usual (BAU) role, with some on-call/after hours support work through a roster system involved. Employee will receive on-call support allowance over and above the base salary for the same. Please note - there is no night shift involved.
