Meloon unlocks the potential of waste streams through cost effective filtration technology. Our Vision is to capture a legacy load of carbon (1000 gigatons) to make future life on the planet possible. The captured carbon dioxide can then be reused or recycled as a raw material or completely removed from the atmosphere by safely storing underground. We help our customers on their way to net zero emissions and to become an impact company that is on the forefront of our global transformation.

We are backed by leading industry expert advisors and are part of AdMaLab, an advanced material incubator supported by the ESF Berlin. Since we started 1,5 years ago, we have been dedicated to designing a circular carbon economy behind our technology to restore a healthy balance of CO2 in the atmosphere. Today we work tirelessly on our first prototype to make our vision reality.

Tasks
• Core Technology Development: Lead the development of our next-generation membrane-based carbon capture system, with a primary focus on advancing the 2D materials and nano porous structure of our membranes. Your innovative contributions will drive the efficiency, selectivity, and scalability of our technology, setting new standards in the field of carbon capture.
• 2D Material Advancement: Utilize your expertise in the development of graphene and other 2D materials to engineer novel materials with exceptional properties. Push the boundaries of material science to design membranes that exhibit superior CO2 capture capabilities and outstanding stability.
• Nano Porous Structure Design: Spearhead the design and optimization of the nano porous structure within our membranes. Employ advanced techniques, such as electro deposition, nano tubes, polymers, and similar processes, to tailor the structure for enhanced performance and robustness.
• Research and Innovation: Stay at the cutting edge of membrane technology and carbon capture research. Engage in exploratory research to identify new materials and methodologies that can elevate our technology to new heights.
• Collaborative Leadership: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including material scientists, process engineers, and researchers, to leverage diverse expertise in shaping our carbon capture system. Lead and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of excellence and innovation.
• Prototype Development and Testing: Oversee the design and fabrication of membrane prototypes, ensuring meticulous testing and performance evaluation. Rapidly iterate and optimize prototypes to meet stringent performance targets.
• Sustainability and Environmental Impact: Contribute to our commitment to sustainability by ensuring that our technology aligns with the highest environmental standards. Your work will make a meaningful contribution to a cleaner, greener future.

Requirements
• Advanced degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or related field with a focus on membrane technology, 2D materials, or nano porous structures.
• Extensive experience in developing graphene and other 2D materials, nano porous structures, electro deposition, and related processes.
• Proven track record in membrane technology development and carbon capture, with a deep understanding of materials synthesis, characterization, and optimization.
• Strong expertise in utilizing cutting-edge techniques to engineer and manipulate nanoscale structures, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
• Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced research environment is highly valued, showcasing adaptability, resilience, and a passion for innovation.
