The Opportunity

You will be part of a talented team of IT professionals that demonstrate strong technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security. The IT System Administrator will have a background in IT, computer systems engineering, and/or systems engineering and analysis. You will also be responsible for providing exceptional IT customer support services to a select senior executive user group of Safe Places. This role is critical in maintaining the quality and availability of our systems that guide the success of our organisation. This position is based in the Brisbane CBD office with travel to Safe Places locations as required.
• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Oversight of infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Identifying issues and proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure accessibility.
• Monitor and test performance of applications, foreseeing potential bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions.
• Continual maintenance of security, including backup and redundancy strategies.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower downtime due to required human intervention.
• Work alongside the team to help design information and operational support systems.
• Build solutions to solve a variety of technical problems of small to large size complexity.
• Ensure training materials on new and/or existing technologies are kept up to date.

About You

Our IT System Administrator will bring a genuine passion to make a difference in the lives of young people and our communities, holding certain attributes and demonstrated knowledge and experience.

Attributes will include:
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology.
• Experience in IT operations support in a relevant industry with experience and certifications in: Windows Desktop/Server, Mac OS/iOS, MDM, Enterprise Application Support.
• Strong background in system administration of LMS and ERP/SAP platforms.
• A strong focus on business outcomes.
• Collaborative approach, open communication, and ability to reach across functional borders.
• Self-motivated with a genuine desire to provide excellent service and business value.
• High attention to detail an accuracy.
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
