The Opportunity

The role is located in our Sydney Office.

The Senior AI Engineering role is to create a suite of AI tools for high-quality, human-level text prediction, image classification and workflow optimisation to improve the efficiency of generation of external advice. The developer will integrate these tools at scale, into an end-to-end automation pipeline for civil engineering projects, where both accuracy and efficiency are of paramount importance.

Success Criteria And Qualifications
• Post Graduate qualifications in mathematics, computer science, or a closely related field, and able to demonstrate high-quality research output. PhD highly regarded.
• Scientific coding experience in Python or C++, and familiarity with Jira
• Demonstrable working knowledge of transformer neural network architecture, with applications to large language modelling, fine-tuning and inference
• Demonstrable working knowledge of current machine learning algorithms and libraries for more efficient neural training and search, including HNSW algorithms; k-NN algorithms; FAISS; hashing; etc.
• Demonstrable working knowledge of core mathematics for deep learning, including statistical learning theory, random matrix theory and randomized numerical linear algebra, in order to efficiently and safely adapt novel machine learning techniques from the literature as needed
• Great communication/presentation skills during each gate review of the process
• Be able to communicate with all stakeholders of the project, from management to internal users and provide and adjust to feedback

Terms
• A contract role, expected 6 months
• Paying a salary pro rata of $130,000 – $140,000.
• Sydney Office location
