The Industrial/Process Engineer will create, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes and systems, reducing costs while maintaining standards of production and quality. The Industrial/Process Engineer will work with one of our main production teams (Extrusion, Press, Materials Movement, Engineering, or Pre-Press) and function as the Engineering resources for those processes.

In addition, they will work closely with our Logistics, Production, and other Supply Chain departments to improve production, efficiency, and safety throughout the plant and supply chain operations. This role will also work closely with the plant engineer and maintenance staff on developing new opportunities within the plant and assist with expansions, layout changes, and new equipment installation. This position may also function as a back-up to a manager or Supervisor and may also assist with the supervision of technicians.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Support an environment where the team identifies and mitigates safety risks for the team and the equipment.
• Assists Managers and Senior Engineers in the development of new methods to improve product quality and process efficacy and efficiency.
• Work with OEM vendors and various production teams to optimize plant assets and operations.
• Providing strategic and tactical support in the areas of engineering, EHS, compliance, asset reliability, cost optimization, quality, productivity, waste, and strategic capital planning and execution.
• Collaborates with senior engineers to design cost-effective manufacturing layouts and building ergonomics for new product lines.
• Designs, redesigns, or enhances work areas and layouts so that awkward or uncomfortable positions, repetitive motions, and inefficient operations are reduced or eliminated.
• Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices; researches and recommends solutions.
• Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, in a Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial engineering. Internship experience preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to comprehend and follow directions.

Basic understanding of Safety and ISO-9000.

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite or related software platforms.

Qualifications
