Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator responsible for designing, implementing, performance tuning and maintaining database systems by analysing needs of customers and maintaining the database clusters to ensure accurate operations. This position is also responsible for ensuring security and integrity of the databases in AWS Cloud and on-premise Databases. This position is responsible for providing guidance, leadership, and direct support to its responsibilities.
• Evaluate database software features and related products and identifies improvements to create a more effective and efficient database
• Design new and upgraded database for customer use by producing specific database needs according to issues and Coordinate installation of upgrades.
• Define logical attributes and design complex data structures to accommodate database production, storage, maintenance, accessibility, and to enhance
• Maintains and edits database system by continuously upgrading system with new technology
• Test design Perform general technical trouble shooting to resolve database performance or capacity issues and give consultation to development teams.
• Perform application tuning and performance
• Automate tasks which are repeated and schedule
• Setup and maintain documentation and standards related to database design and

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience managing large scale Data Warehouse using AWS RedShift, RedShift Spectrum and/or RDS databases.
• Experience managing day to day operations of provisioning, maintaining backups, DR and monitoring of AWS RedShift/RDS clusters.
• Hands-on experience with Query Tuning in high concurrency environment
• Expertise setting up and managing AWS RDS and/or Aurora with MySQL & PostgreSQL.
• Experience writing Python scripts to automate DevOps tasks.
• AWS certifications are preferred.
• Familiarity with other AWS Services: S3, Lambda.
• Additional relevant experience in any relational database like Oracle or MSSQL or MYSQL or Postgres Database Administration is a must.
• Experience with software installation, upgrades, and patching.
• Experience with database operations, maintenance procedures, SQL.
• Experience with database design and data architecture design.
• Experience with performance tuning and database optimization.
• Updated on current on technology and trends in database administration.
• Automation of repeated activities and scripting experience.
• Knowledge of Linux system, hardware.
• Oracle OCI Cloud experience is a plus.
• Experience with Mongo, Redis is a plus.
• Experience with PL/SQL, T-SQL is a plus.
• Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels in the Company and with various business contacts outside of the company in an articulate, professional Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
