We are actively seeking an experienced and talented Senior Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our New Zealand Building Services team! In this client-facing role, you will be at the forefront of delivering technical excellence and building strong client relationships. Based in Auckland or Christchurch, your expertise will be instrumental in anticipating client needs, providing unique solutions to complex challenges, and advancing the Mechanical discipline.

· Lead the execution of Mechanical engineering analysis, design, and delivery services for an array of projects both locally and within APAC.

· Evaluate project progress and outcomes, recommending necessary changes to ensure objectives are met.

· Provide technical guidance and contribute to the preparation of design documentation, reports, and specifications.

· Participate in site inspections, offering valuable technical insights to address construction queries.

· Direct and guide staff, evaluating progress and recommending changes to achieve collective goals.

· Foster internal learning and development by sharing your expertise with the team.

· Facilitate seamless collaboration with the entire design team across disciplines and organizations.

· balance competing project requirements to achieve a harmonious design outcome.

· Review intricate technical work, meticulously applying established guidelines and codes of practice.

· Tackle intricate challenges with a proactive and effective problem-solving approach.
Here’s What You’ll Need:

· Substantial experience in Mechanical Engineering for Buildings.

· Demonstrate exemplary experience in technical leadership of the Mechanical discipline and the ability to manage multiple disciplines coherently.

· Preferred experience in: -

o Computational fluid dynamics.

o BIM / Revit / Navis Works

o Health Sector

o Critical Mission facilities

o Laboratory and Science facilities

· A track record of successful project delivery, adhering to strict quality assurance systems.

· Excellent problem solving and issue resolution skills.

· Chartered Professional Engineer

· Industry memberships and active participation such as CIBSE or ASHRAE.

· Registered in NZ or Australia

· An excellent understanding and application of relevant NZ Mechanical design standards and codes of practice

· Experience in Design Management.

· Outstanding communication (spoken and written) and presentation skills.

· Detailed knowledge and experience of technical leadership in own discipline and excellent knowledge of, and ability to coordinate with related disciplines.

· Lead Multidiscipline Health & Safety by Design.
