Mō te tūnga | About the role
The People and Health Tower works collaboratively with a range of business domain owners, including Training, Human Resources, Defence Health, Recruiting and Defence Safety to design, deliver and manage digital products that enable these business functions within NZDF. The teams are responsible for sustaining current state technology, and delivering and evolving the NZDF's future state capability across each of these domains.
As a Product Manager, you will have overarching responsibility for all products within the People and Health Tower to ensure they support the delivery of the NZDF's vision and strategy. The Product Manager's responsibilities embrace both strategic and operational activities through defining the technology vision and roadmaps for the products, prioritising and de-conflicting organisational requirements in collaboration with relevant digital product teams and business owners, and removing roadblocks to product delivery.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
Ideally you will have knowledge of or exposure to a combination of the following:

- Experience creating end to end roadmaps that interpret high level strategic business goals into a digital technology roadmap that provides the basis for the creation and modernisation of digital products;
- Deep understanding of methods and techniques that build deep collaborative partnerships across senior business stakeholders, including the ability to clearly document, using business language, target business outcome from investment in digital products;
- Understanding how technology will support overall delivery of the strategy, including being able to articulate this in business language;
- Understanding integration of new functionality into existing complex environments and landscapes;
- Have exposure end to end product lifecycle management, including consolidation and decommissioning activities that maximise operating efficiencies across complex business areas;
- A broad knowledge of cloud and on premise software environments, with experience of SAP HR and Payroll modules or other large ERP systems being an advantage; and
- A Collaborative interpersonal style, including clear experience in managing difficult customers and customer expectations.
• *Additionally you'll have experience in, or knowledge of**:

- Proven ability to build strong collaborative partnerships across diverse and complex business areas;
- Senior stakeholder engagement experience;
- Identifying opportunities for business process improvement;
- Capacity management;
- IT change management;
- Budget and Commercial management;
- Strong team leadership and development skills; and
- Understanding of the portfolio and programme business planning processes and how this relates to roadmap development and delivery.
