• *This Opportunity**
WSP is currently initiating a search for a full time **Telecommunications Engineer** for our **Orlando, FL** and **Nashville, TN** offices.
Be involved in projects with our Building Technology Systems Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges.
This opportunity provides support to technical staff, engineers, and project managers for the design, development, building, testing, and inspecting of smart building projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include basic assistance with the research, design, concept development, installation, operation, maintenance, and optimal integration of intelligent technologies using a converged network approach, and systems that make predictive and automated decisions that impact building capabilities including access control, acoustics, audio systems, security, and video surveillance. Generates accurate and concise reports and documentation regarding assigned equipment, installation, integration, and operation specifications. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality for building inhabitants.
• *Your Impact**
+ Provide designs for Telecommunications systems (Structured cabling systems, Telecom spaces and pathway infrastructure) and Electronic Safety & Security systems (IP video surveillance, access control, intercom)
+ Coordinate with clients to gather and document system and design requirements.
+ Create design narratives and coordinated, construction documents (Drawings and CSI Specifications).
+ Complete deliverables including technical drawings in coordination with REVIT/CAD production staff.
+ Participate in project meetings (local and out-of-town) with the design team and clients.
+ Participate in construction meetings, review and respond to Technology system submittals and RFIs
+ Perform site surveys to document construction progress.
+ Coordinate integration of security and telecommunications systems with other intelligent building systems. (BMS, Lighting control, AV etc.)
+ Understanding of local and national codes and industry standards (NEC, IBC, NFPA, BICSI, EIA/TIA) related to the design and operation of Security and Telecommunications systems

• *Who You Are**
• *Required Qualifications**
+ Possess a four-year degree (B.S. in engineering is preferred) or equivalent combination of technical degree and related work experience designing technology systems for buildings.
+ 1-3 years experience actively designing Security and Telecommunications systems for the AEC consulting and engineering industry. Integrator or specialty consultant experience would also be considered.
+ Experience related to Audiovisual, DAS and/or Data Network/Wi-Fi/Telephony
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on the ability to organize priorities.
+ The ability to obtain a security clearance
+ Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.
+ Experience working directly with clients including architects and building owners.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP"s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP"s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
• *Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Design experience for Security and Telecommunications systems for buildings" projects of various types and sizes. (Healthcare, Commercial office, Hospitality, Science and Technology, Federal Projects, High rise Residential, Mission Critical)
+ Revit experience

+ Industry certification (ASIS CPP, BICSI RCDD, AVIXA (InfoComm) CTS/-D, Cisco CCNA, etc.) - A desire and plan to achieve certification is important.
