Position Overview:

As a Senior SQL Server DBA, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimising our database infrastructure to support real-time financial transactions. The database environment consists of tables ranging from 50 million to 200 million records, requiring a deep understanding of performance tuning, scalability, and data integrity.

Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance SQL Server database systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability for real-time transactions.
• Conduct regular database performance tuning, optimisation, and monitoring to guarantee efficient and scalable operations.
• Manage and troubleshoot issues related to data integrity, performance, and availability in a high-volume transactional environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of the database infrastructure with various applications and systems.
• Implement and enforce security protocols to safeguard sensitive financial data.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and minimise downtime.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously enhance the database environment.
• Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience with SQL Server 2016 Enterprise and above, experience with Oracle is a plus
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server features, including replication, clustering, and Always On Availability Groups.
• Strong knowledge of database monitoring, tuning, and configuration analysis tools.
• Proven experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator, specifically in a fintech or high-transaction volume environment.
• SQL Server DBA Certification would be a grat plus.
• Expertise in performance tuning, query optimisation, and database scalability for large datasets.
• Experience with managing databases with varying sizes, ranging from 50 million to 300 million records.
• Familiarity with compliance and security standards in the fin-tech sector.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
• Experience in database security, including access control, auditing, and encryption
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with a cross-functional team.
