Our Information Technology Business Unit is looking for a Database Developer to join our Tāmaki-makau-rau/Auckland team.

About this team:

You will be joining a fast-paced team that are using the latest technologies to transform the way we work. Each team member is committed to the growth and success of one another while taking on new challenges day to day.

Your typical day will include:

In this role you will provide database development and support work collaboratively with ITS and Business Units to manage enterprise data and database solutions. Project work will be split between application database development and data warehouse development. Level 2 and 3 support will be provided when support tickets are escalated that are relating to Deloitte hosted environments (Cloud and On-Premise).

More specifically:

· Designing and implementing transactional databases in order to support development of bespoke local applications.

· Design and implement ETL procedures for intake of data from both internal and external sources

· Consolidating and optimising existing and new data warehouse infrastructure

· Collaborating with the developers and stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle and support of released applications.

· Manage SQL Server databases

Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with:

· Minimum two years’ experience in a full time IT role (preferred but not essential)

· Good overall problem solving and trouble shooting skills

· Ability to prioritise and work unsupervised when required

· The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both verbally and in writing

· Exceptional level of customer service and builds strong relationships with key stakeholders and other team members

· Confidence, a good attitude, motivation and a fun personality

You will also have experience with some or all of the following technologies/concepts:

· T-SQL, Azure PaaS SQL, MSSQL Server 2016 & 2019

· Data Warehousing, ETL/ELT, OLAP

· OLTP/Application Database Design

· SQL Server Management Studio/Visual Studio

· CI/CD

· Dimensional Modelling
