Our client is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their Portfolio Budget and Financial Management team to support the team in managing the forward estimates, monitoring the department's budgets, analysing changes to the department's budgets, contributing to the annual state budget process as well and coordinating the finances of emergency management activities coordinated by the department.

In this role, the successful candidate will provide budget, financial and performance-related analysis, work with groups in analysing departmental requests and prepare submissions, reports, and briefing materials on a range of strategic financial management and budgeting issues. In this role, you will also assist groups in the management and delivery of strategies, programs, and projects as well as building and maintaining effective relationships within the department. With a degree in accounting, finance or commerce (desirable), the role requires high-level conceptual and analytical skills, a focus on detail and the ability to build effective relationships along with strong written skills.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and confidence in their ability and planning. Good communication and writing skills are essential with Intermediate to advanced Excel skill level. State government experience is preferred but not essential.
