Reports to: DirectorInformation Technology

Scope and Purpose
• The role of Database Administrator is pivotal in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the ERP system within American University of Kuwait.
• Administer maintain and optimize the Ellucian Banner database ensuring availability reliability and performance to provide a secure responsive and reliable platform for managing critical institutional data.
• Maintain data accuracy consistency and security within the ERP system through quality controls and validation rules to safeguard the integrity of sensitive institutional data supporting accurate decisionmaking.
• Offer technical support to endusers resolving databaserelated issues and facilitating data retrieval and reporting to empower users to maximize the ERP systems utility and efficiency in their daily tasks.
• Implement security measures and adhere to compliance standards to protect institutional data to ensure data security and maintain the institutions legal and reputational standing.
Monitor and optimize database performance addressing bottlenecks and enhancing query efficiency to enhance system responsiveness and scalability to support institutional growth.
• Develop comprehensive backup and recovery plans to minimize data loss and downtime to ensure business continuity in the face of system failures or data .
• Maintain documentation and collaborate with IT teams developers and administrators for system integration to foster knowledge sharing continuity and effective integration of systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the DirectorInformation Technology.
Qualifications

Skills and Abilities
• A Bachelors degree from a reputable college or university.
• Strong SQL skills for query optimization and data manipulation.
• Proficiency in working with database systems and related software.
• Prior experience with Ellucian Banner ERP environment is advantageous.
• Certifications in database administration or related areas.
• Knowledge of programming technologies like .NET ASP VB.NET and Java is an added advantage.
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of handson experience in Oracle database management with preferably strong focus on Ellucian Banner.
• Proficiency in project management displaying emerging problemsolving skills patience and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with effective time management and attention to detail.
• A quick learner who can engage in intensive work.
• Possess a collaborative team spirit selfconfidence and developing communication skills.
• Fast learner with the ability to work intensively.
