The Role

As a Staff Pharmacist, you are critical to ensuring our residents have the medications they need, when they need them. Primary Responsibilities
• Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing to the patient, including filling, order entry, and packaging
• Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure prescriptions were filled correctly
• Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing a drug based on patients' allergies, incompatibilities with current medications, frequency of refills, etc.
• Interpret prescription orders, to include exercising professional judgement in determining whether to dispense a particular prescription, taking into account patient safety and legal limitations

Qualifications
• Licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy
• NPI number preferred -Not mandatory for hire, required within first 90-day period of employment

Skills/Abilities
• 1+ years of related experience
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred
• Great attention to detail and accuracy
• Quality minded; motivated to seek out errors and inquire when something appears inaccurate
• Effective communicator
• Quick and independent learner
• QS1 or FrameworkLTC experience a plus
• Ability to multitask and prioritize

Location: North Port, FL

Schedule: 8-hour shifts, five days a week. Shifts start at 9am or close at 6:30pm. One Saturday per month. On call one week of the month.
