Position Title: Assistant Manager (Project Engineering Unit)

Department: Technical Services Department

Location: Plant Site, Karachi

The ideal candidate should have: 5-7 years’ experience with major working for Project Engineering unit in a reputed organization in Fertilizer/ Chemical or Oil & Gas sector plants. Carried out Project Engineering Unit tasks & assignments in an efficient manner; including design & fabrication/ execution assistance & field technical audit of projects. Understanding of plant technical issues / emergency handling on day-to-day basis & preparation of online repair procedures as per applicable Codes, Standards & good engineering practices. Excellent knowledge of ASTM, ASME, AWS, API, AISC, TEMA Codes and Standards. Carried out mechanical design/ analysis on relevant Engineering Software. Good knowledge of Project Management tools & budgeting skills.

Job Roles & Responsibilities: Technical: Excellent knowledge on Engineering drawings, bill of material, review of fabrication and development drawings. Excellent knowledge on International Codes & Standards related to Pressure Vessels, Piping, Steel Structure, Welding, Materials and Storage Tanks (including ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, AWS, AISC, TEMA) Good understanding of Project Management tools and Project Cycle. Able to monitor & control the projects utilizing all resources and prepare project progress reports along with S-Curve. Good understanding of design evaluation & review of Plant equipment, piping and steel structure with hands-on experience on relevant engineering software. Able to prepare ordering specifications and job scope for bidding, review of techno-commercial proposals and resolution of technical queries from vendors. Have hands-on experience on Plant expansion projects and routine mechanical modification projects. Expertise in preparing project cost estimates. Have carried out project feasibility studies and prepared/ participated in preparing project feasibility reports. Hands-on experience of preparing & monitoring CAPEX & OPEX budget. Good knowledge of engineering materials and their applicability in Fertilizer Plant. Understanding of Welding techniques & able to prepare Welding Procedures as per relevant Codes & Standards. Good understanding of QR & WPQ. Expertise on MS Office including MS Project. SAP understanding is an additive advantage. Good understanding of safety in Fertilizer/ Oil & Gas Plant including Process Safety Management. Engineering certification, if any i.e. PMP, any relevant API Certification etc. will be an additive advantage. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication skills. Leadership and teamwork. Demonstrate good intellect and conduct. Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage/ develop teams in a multi-cultural context.
