Description

Delta is seeking a Civil/Transportation Engineer for our downtown Chicago office.

This role requires conventional aspects of civil engineering design: roadway geometrics and pavements, cross sections, MOT, grading, storm sewer, ADA ramps, and traffic signals.

A qualified candidate will demonstrate responsible care and judgement while performing most assignments independently. Guidance and mentoring will be provided as required for complex assignments.

Responsibilities:
• Perform civil engineering design from preliminary through to final design
• Develop plans, specifications, reports, and quantity computations
• Ensure design compliance with state/local codes, ordinances and agency requirements
• Coordinate with reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work
• Coordinate with other departments for multi-discipline work
• Maintain project documentation
• Planning & scheduling of both assigned work and training from the supervising engineer
• Direct the work of junior technical and drafting support staff
• Independent critical thinking ability to make timely and well-informed decisions
• Represents Delta in communications with clients
• Other duties may be assigned as required

Minimum Qualifications:
• IL PE License
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited)
• 10+ years of transportation design experience
• 2+ years of project management experience
• Illinois based designexperience with local agencies such as IDOT, Tollway & CDOT
• Proficiency with MicroStation, Geopak, and/or OpenRoads
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized with strict attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid-environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
