Description

Our client in North Austin, Texas seeks an experienced Accountant to work full-time. This position is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with some overtime as needed. This is a temporary position with opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with multiple teams, such as Marketing, Tech, Legal, OneCard, Finance, Accounts Payable, and Indirect Procurement.
• Create journal entries for close, allocations, and GL correction. Regular processes include prepaid amortizations, reclasses, expense accruals, and trend review to ensure appropriate classification and recognition of expenses and related balance sheet offsets.
• Assist with the close process and month-end reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance of relevant account activity, both income statement and balance sheet.
• Participate in the review and analysis of financial information and ensure appropriate communication to relevant business partners is provided as needed.
• Provide strong customer service to our business partners, as well as external parties. Regular communication includes summaries of meeting notes, inquiries related to analysis of requests, and follow-ups on open items, especially when multiple teams are involved in long-term initiatives.

You Will Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 2 to 4 years of related accounting experience.
• Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to use Excel at an intermediate level, including v-lookups and pivots with an eye towards continual process improvement.
• Ability to comprehend, interpret, and analyze financial reports and accounting literature.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to define problems by collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
• Genuine team player mindset with a sense of humor and patience.
• CPA certification is a plus, but not required with a solid understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Experience with an ERP system such as Workday financials is preferred.
The ideal candidate should have strong project management skills, experience with unapplied cash and with escheatment rules. We would also expect the person to assist with development of standard work to deal with various situations relating to the resolution of unapplied cash.

Pay Details: $17.00 to $30.00 per hour
