Position Title: Senior Database Administrator

Reports To: Data Architect

Position Summary

ExamRoom.AI is currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our IT team. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing our organization's databases. Your expertise in database management will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our data infrastructure.

Position Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator, preferably in a senior or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of database design principles, SQL, and scripting languages.
• Experience with database security, access control, and compliance requirements.
• Strong proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Must have experience working on AWS and RDS Services.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Responsibilities
• Database Design: Collaborate with application developers to design and implement efficient and scalable database structures.
• Database Management: Administer, maintain, and optimize database systems, including data backup and recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Data Security: Implement and enforce data security and access controls to protect sensitive information.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.
• Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement database backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance by fine-tuning queries, indexing, and configuration settings.
• Database Upgrades: Plan and execute database system upgrades and migrations to the latest versions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, procedures, and standards.
• Compliance: Ensure that the database systems comply with relevant data privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Disaster Recovery: Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss in case of system failures.
